In the near future, Aihne Fontaine is about to head to twelfth-century France to research her PhD thesis in medieval women’s studies when someone hijacks the time machine. Penelope Goodheart, the architect of the program, convinces her to follow the hijacker into the past to stop him from irrevocably altering the Space Time Continuum. Aihne hopes that she can still do her research on the young Eleanor of Aquitaine, the wife of two kings and the mother of two kings. But the more she learns about Eleanor’s early life and the complex motivations of the hijacker, she discovers that she is not that different from him.
